Welcome! My name is Maya Sassoon.
I run an interdisciplinary studio concentrating on video, photo, illustration, and animation. Having started my journey by receiving a Masters in architecture, I approach making visuals from a rigorous design lens. My work is thoughtfully composed, starting with a clear concept or motif. I like to mix harmonious compositions and clean lines with eye popping and unexpected colors, shapes, and materials.
I believe in the importance of storytelling when composing visuals. Even small scale projects deserve a thoughtful narrative. I strive for my imagery to leave the viewer thinking and learning.
I’m based in Los Angeles and New York, and work internationally.
